Compensations to reach 28.2bn manat

A draft state budget for 2003 envisages allocation of 206.9bn manat to pay addressed compensations due to the abolishment of social privileges.

107bn manat of the amount will be spent on paying compensations for veterans, disabled and victims’ families through the State Social Security Fund and 99.9bn manat for refugees through the State Committee on Refugees.

Several privileges for veterans of Chernobyl accident and Great Patriotic War will be revived next year, according to the Fund. The privileges of those who suffered during large-scale operations in the former Soviet period will be restored as part of an agreement on providing of equal privileges signed among the CIS states.*
