Int'l Academy to award Azeri President
The first Azeri academicians and corresponding members of the International Academy of Sciences (IAS) will be awarded diplomas in a ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel of Baku Friday. Azeri President Aliyev is also expected to be awarded on his birthday.
The IAS was established in 1985 with a view to coordinate efforts of world scientists. Its founder is twofold Nobel Prize Laureate, Austrian Academician Leinus Polling.
Attending the solemn meeting of the Presidium of the Azeri section of the IAS International Council for Scientific Development will be its Austrian president Walter Koffler, German president of the East Europe section Carl Hecht, members of the IAS Presidium and honorable president of the Azeri section, MP and Academician Jalal Aliyev.
The IAS has two national sections in the CIS countries, including Russia and Azerbaijan.*
