CE experts to speak of European Social Charter

Baku is expected to host a seminar dedicated to the reconsideration of the European Social Charter on December 19-20 with the involvement of experts from the CE Human Rights Committee. Attending the seminar will be representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, labor and social security, justice, youth, sports and tourism, public health and economic development, as well as the Confederation of Trade Unions, the Entrepreneurship Confederation, and NGOs.

Azerbaijan, which became a full-fledged member of the CE on January 25, signed the Charter on October 18 this year and Azeri parliament is to ratify it before January 2004.

CE experts will speak of the procedures for ratification and application of the Charter.*
