Ganligol draining to end this month

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov has stated that the draining of Ganligol lake is expected to complete later this month, as water from this artificial reservoir is being pumped to the municipal sewerage system and discharged into the Caspian after being purified at the aeration center in Gobustan.

According to Mr. Abutalibov, the territory the lake is now situated in will be given a new life. As to the willingness of the Canadian construction company, “Stonpey”, to acquire a plot on the territory for construction, H. Abutalibov said that the previous commitments the company has undertaken should be honored first.*
