Azerbaijan to be admitted to ITO

The session of the World Tourism Organization general assembly, due in Seoul on September 23, is expected to focus on Azerbaijan’s full-fledged admission to this organization, minister for youth, sports and tourism, Abulfaz Garayev, told a news conference Tuesday.

In this connection, the minister is preparing special shows, promotion publications and Internet sites. Azerbaijan will take a regular part in international tourism fairs and exhibitions three times a year. According to the minister, tourism expenses should be fixed as a separate item in the state budget. He also said that the “Azerbaijan Review” magazine will start coming out in September, which as he believes will promote tourism in the country.*
