French composer to present new compositions in Baku
French composer Pierre Thilloy will hold a concert in Baku. Two of his works will be premiered at the Azerbaijan State Philharmony on Friday.
French embassy in Azerbaijan hosted a news conference attended by the composer on Wednesday. In his opening remarks, the embassy’s cultural adviser Eve Bertrand, said that the concert will include “Song of semi-darkness” and “Burning mountain” compositions dedicated to Azerbaijan. The State Symphonic Orchestra will be directed by French conductor Vincent Barthe. The new compositions will feature mezzo-soprano Greta Sasinska and a string quartet.
Bertrand added that the concert will include works by renowned Azeri composers Gara Garayev and Khayyam Mirzazada.
Thilloy presented his concerts in Baku in 2003 and 2004.
