310 underage children suffering from diabetes

The presentation ceremony of the “The best care for diabetes-affected children” project being implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation jointly with the International Diabetes Federation was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel of Baku on Tuesday.

The event opened with showing a film featuring the late national leader Heydar Aliyev’s voice.

The Foundation president, first lady Mehriban Aliyeva said the entity’s priority is to provide assistance to children. There are currently some 150,000 people suffering from diabetes, of whom 310 are children under 14, she said. Aliyeva pointed out the importance of joint efforts by foundations and public organizations engaged in fighting the disease. She said that Denmark’s Novo Nordisk company has donated up-to-date insulin, injection needles and other medical items to suffice for half a year for underage diabetes-affected children in Azerbaijan.
