Prestigious award for UK postgraduate studies

The British Council, the Culture and Education Section of the British embassy in Baku, has created opportunities for five Azerbaijanis to study in the UK during the 2003/2004 academic year under British Chevening Scholarships.

Those, who are under 35 and have experience in their chosen profession, will benefit the opportunities.

The British Chevening Scholarships are prestigious awards designed to enable overseas students to study in the United Kingdom. The Scholarships are funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). They are on offer in more than 150 countries, including Azerbaijan, and enable future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers from around the world to become familiar with the UK and to gain skills which will benefit their countries.

The deadline for applications is November 28, 2003

Over 30 scholars have been to the UK under the British Chevening Scholarships scheme in Azerbaijan since 1993. Five scholars from Azerbaijan are currently completing their studies in the UK.*
