Final results of presidential elections announced
The Central Election Commission (CEC) in its Monday meeting discussed the final results of the October 15 presidential elections.
Elaborating on the final decision of the CEC, its chairman Mazahir Panahov said the draft final document had been forwarded to the Constitution Court.
According to the draft decision, a total of 4,442,338 voters participated in the presidential elections. The numbered envelopes and ballot papers amounted to 3,164,348 or 71.23% of the voters. 2,421,063 ballot papers were considered valid.
According to the results of the elections 1,860,346 people (76.84%) voted for Ilham Aliyev, 8,264 (0.34%) – Hafiz Hajiyev, 87,523 (3.62%) – Lala-Shovkat Hajiyeva, 12,071 (0.5%) – Gudrat Hasanguliyev, 24,098 (1%) – Ilyas Ismayilov, 338,145 (13.97%) – Isa Gambar, 70,638 (2.92%) – Etibar Mammadov, 19,973 (0.82%) – Sabir Rustamkhanli.
In accordance with the results of the elections, Panahov declared Ilham Aliyev’s victory.
CEC Secretary Ingilab Nasirov underlined that the results of the elections were annulled at 694 poling stations. For this reason, 673,371 ballot papers, of which 601,780 were in favor of Ilham Aliyev, were considered invalid.
The presidential elections were held at 5,129 polling stations throughout the country.*
