12 presidential hopefuls registered with CEC
The Central Election Commission (CEC) in its Sunday meeting registered the candidacy of Cingiz Sadiqov nominated by the Unified Azerbaijan Party for presidency.
Further, the CEC members discussed the documents of Rufat Agayev who individually nominated his candidacy for presidency, while refused to register his nomination as there were irregularities in the papers submitted.
To date, CEC has registered the candidacies of Heydar Aliyev (nominated by NAP), Ali Karimli (PFPA-reformers), Isa Qambar (Musavat), Ilyas Ismayilov (Adalat), Etibar Mammadov (PNIA), Sabir Rustamxanli (Civil Solidarity), Ixtiyar Sirin (National Congress), as well as Lala-Sovkat Haciyeva (nominated by an initiative group of National Unity electorates), Ilham Aliyev (an initiative group of electorates from Naxcivan District), Qudrat Hasanquliyev (an initiative group of Popular Front electorates), and Yunis Aliyev who individually nominated his candidacy for presidency.*
