К своему глубочайшему удивлению я не нашла биографии Иштвана Эркеня на русском языке, только даты рождения и смерти. Поэтому даю то, что нашла на английском и венгерском:
Örkény ISTVÁN (1912-1979) is a Hungarian writer best known as the author of the One-Minute Stories, The Tóths and Cats Play. His first volume of short stories, entitled Ocean Dance, was published in 1941. As a forced laborer, he was sent to the Russian front in 1942 and was soon taken prisoner of war. After 1957, the publication of his works was banned but he did not stop writing. His first One-Minute stories were created at this time.
